Position title: Garde Manger Associate
Reports to: Chef de Cuisine or Garde Manger Supervisor
Status: Hourly, Full Time or Part Time

Position Summary: As a Garde Manger Associate, you are responsible for assisting Market guests with cold food options, while producing all cold food items . Garde Manger is expected to follow all safety and sanitation regulations and PDT Market standards.
provide exceptional guest service while sharing knowledge of garde manger products
assist with daily production, packaging, and cleaning including all salad bar items, grab + go items, seasonal and composed salad
assist with inventory of cold station stock items
assist with daily par levels and product rotation
follow company policies, standards, and recipes
follow ServSafe standards and health code policies
ensure products are properly labeled with item, date, and price
ensure deli department is maintained neat, clean, and safe
communicate department needs to Garde Manger Supervisor
other duties as assigned
previous experience is an asset
ability to work quickly + efficiently in a fast-paced environment
basic math skills
high school diploma or equivalent preferred
good oral and written communication
good customer service skills
strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
highly responsible & reliable
ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
servsafe food handler certified (within 3 months)
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
constant standing and walking throughout shift
frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
visa requirements: must be legally authorized to work in the United States
ability to use commercial equipment including (but not limited to) ovens, grills, a meat slicer, scales, packaging machinery, and a cash register
ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
reading comprehension - understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

writing - communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
speaking - talking to others to convey information effectively.
