Position title: PDT Event Chef

Reports to: Creative Director

Status: Hourly, Full Time

Position Summary: As the PDT Event Chef, you are responsible for the successful execution of all food for PDT Catering events (on and off premise) and management of event kitchen staff, while providing world class guest service. The PDT Event Chef is expected to follow all safety and sanitation regulations and PDT Market standards and ensures all staff do the same.


Essential Functions: 

  • provide world class guest service and a one of a kind experience for all guests during all events

  • assist event manager to drive event timeline to ensure the event menu is executed successfully and according to the banquet event order (beo) that PDT Sales established with the client

  • manage setup and break down of off premise kitchen area

  • manage the packing, load in and load out of kitchen needs for off premise events

  • keep open communication with event manager to ensure a successful event 

  • inform event manager of any issues, changes, or needs during an event

  • ensure food goes out correctly, hot, and on time

  • supervise, assign, and assist all event kitchen staff to ensure a successful event

  • ensure associates follow company policies and standards

  • ensure associates follow health code policies

  • keep open communication with Sales Manager regarding events, execution, and menus

  • keep open communication with the creative director regarding event needs, issues, and concerns

  • documents and resolves employee and guest incidents

  • ensure event space is maintained neat, clean, and safe

  • other duties as assigned


Qualifications: 

  • minimum 3 years’ experience in an event chef position 

  • ability to work quickly + efficiently in a fast-paced environment

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • excellent oral and written communication 

  • excellent customer service skills

  • proficiency in microsoft office

  • strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities 

  • highly responsible & reliable 

  • ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team 

  • ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times 

  • servsafe manager certified (within 3 months)


Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): 

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift 

  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs 

  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting 

  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps 

  • Visa Requirements: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
