Position title: Butcher/Seafood Associate
Reports to: Butcher/Seafood Lead
Status: Hourly, Full Time or Part Time

Position Summary: As a Butcher/Seafood Associate, you are responsible for assisting Market guests with their meat and seafood needs and fabricating meat and fish cuts for retail needs. Butcher/Seafood Associates are expected to follow all safety and sanitation regulations and PDT Market standards.
Essential Functions:
assist Market guests with meat and seafood needs while providing exceptional customer service and knowledge of meat and fish product and cooking techniques
assist with daily production, packaging, and cleaning of meat/seafood department including all prefabricated, prepackaged meat/fish items, retail counter items, and ready to cook meat/fish options
assist with monitoring inventory of meat/fish stock items
assist with tracking of daily par levels and product rotation
training of meat and fish department associates
follow company policies, standards, and recipes
follow ServSafe standards and health code policies
ensure products are properly labeled with item, date, and price
ensure meat and fish department is maintained neat, clean, and safe
communicate department needs to Butcher/Seafood Lead
other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
previous experience preferred
ability to work quickly + efficiently in a fast-paced environment
basic math skills
knowledge of meat and fish products and cooking techniques
high school diploma or equivalent preferred
good oral and written communication
good customer service skills
strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
highly responsible & reliable
ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
servsafe food handler certified (within 3 months)
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
constant standing and walking throughout shift
frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
visa requirements: must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Requirements
ability to use commercial equipment including (but not limited to) knives, fabrication equipment, scales, packaging machinery, and a cash register
ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
reading comprehension - understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
